Town Information

The most northerly Euro 2004 venue and the 'religious capital of Portugal'. Braga is packed with churches and the main tourist attraction is the central cathedral called the Sé. There are plenty of decent bars and restaurants - roast kid is a speciality. Sporting Braga are the local team. They wear an Arsenal style kit - red shirts with white sleeves - and their greatest hour came in 1966 when they won the Portuguese cup.

Transport

There are at least two fast trains a day to and from Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto, and there is a daily service north into Spain. Daily buses will also take you to Porto and Lisbon.
