Sweden have a solid team in fitting with many Scandinavian teams over the years. Their players will be physically very stong and their team well organised. the Sweden squad is full of experienced players who ply thier trade in top teams across Europe. If the likes of Larsson and Ljungberg play to their full potential, this team could progress from the group stages and cause a shock or two later on.

Star Player |
Henrick Larsson has given in to the pleas of his Swedish team-mates, managers, supporters and even some politicians and gone back on his decision to retire from international football. He will now play in Portugal this summer and use the tournament as a chance to show-case his skills in the hope of finding a new employer. After seven successful years at Celtic, Larsson is moving on and his destination remains undecided. He undoubtedly still has the ability to perform at the highest level so there should be no end of tempting offers by the end of June.
It remains to be seen how he will fit in to the Sweden line-up as they have just got used to playing without him. Most likely, he will partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic in a two-pronged attack that will be hard to contain.

| Key Man |
After an injury dogged season, it is by no means certain that Freddy Ljungberg will be on top form this summer, or even that he will be with Arsenal at the start of next season. Rumours have linked him with a number of European clubs and some good performances in Portugal could prompt some substantial bids.
Ljungberg will play down the left flank and aim to create the type of chances upon which Larsson thrives. A strong, competitive player, Ljungberg will also contribute defensively as well as chipping in with the odd goal or two. His performances could be key to Sweden's qualification from a tough group. |
